Revised Policies

Given the current situation with COVID-19, and with the aim of giving greater peace of mind to our clients, we have adjusted our cancellation policy as follows:

  • Reservations made between March 01, 2020, to June 30, 2021: Eligible for Full Refund 
  • Reservations made outside the dates above are eligible for the following: 
  • All deposits are fully refundable up until 90 days prior to your departure date for all bookings made after July 01, 2021 
  • We will offer you a flexible option which will allow you to change your booking to a more suitable date and/or destination. Otherwise, our standard cancellation policy will apply.

What Happens Next? 

We will make every effort to ensure your safe departure on your travel date, however, in the event, your travel plans with Explore World Journeys are canceled due to Covid-19, all tours will be rescheduled for a later date. 

Don’t Worry, A Tour Credit is Available

If you prefer, you may wish to take a credit towards any future Explore World Journeys tours rather than wait for your booked tour to depart if it is cancelled or delayed due to the virus. This credit option applies to all tours scheduled to depart prior to December 31, 2022. We would also like to extend the additional option that we will allow for your travel credits to be transferrable to another person in the event you no longer wish to travel. We are happy to accommodate you with any or all of these options.  

Travelling in 2021 / 2022 / 2023

In the event a pre-departure travel test (PCR) be required to enter the destination of a purchased trip, the arrangements within the required timescale and related costs will be the responsibility of the guest. Once the trip has begun, should the client present any symptoms related to COVID, resulting in the modification of the contracted services, (e.g. night’s stay, changes of hotel or flights) any additional expenses will be the clients’ responsibility and must subsequently be claimed from their insurance company.

Update on CIBT Visas/Passports

Due to mandatory ‘shelter in place’ orders for all residents and the closure of all non-essential businesses, including most Consulates, CIBT visas has temporarily closed their physical offices in Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami New York City and San Francisco. However, their websites will provide the latest guidance on requirements and consulate availability and their customer service teams are available by telephone at 800-929-2428 or via email at [email protected] You may also place orders for future travel, but they recommend that you do not send your materials until they contact you that their office is open for processing.

Communication on the Ground

We are also in constant contact with our partners on the ground, including our tour directors, before, during, and after tours. If there is a concern in a region, we increase the frequency of contact and can be in touch hourly. We do this directly with our ground partners as we believe they have the most accurate information in-destination and approach your safety with the same care as we do. We have been working with many of our partners for decades, and we have developed strong relationships built on communication and trust.

Rerouting/Cancelling Tours

At Explore World Journeys we are always evaluating the most comfortable route to any of our destinations. We will not hesitate to reroute or cancel a tour if we believe your safety is at risk. We have rerouted and canceled tours in the past, and we won’t hesitate to do it again. We will contact you immediately if your departure is affected and work with you accordingly to revise your plans.

Emergency Contact Information

Prior to departure, we always provide you with emergency contact information. If you are already in-destination and there is an emergency, Explore World Journeys and our partners will initiate our extensive evacuation plans immediately. The actual plans vary depending on the region and the situation.

Trip Insurance

It is always highly recommended that you purchase travel insurance for any trip you take. You can purchase insurance directly through Explore World Journeys or from your preferred insurance provider.
